Plot
Shay Patrick Cormac is a very young killer who recently joined the brotherhood in America led by mentor Achille Davenport, through his dear childhood friend Liam. At the dawn of 1752 Shay and Liam run to the aid of the explorer Louis-Joseph Gautier Chevalier of La Vérendrye, attacked by a group of Englishmen, to whom Shay finally subtracts the ship known as Morrigan after having defeated them and enlisting their prisoners as crew. The rescue and mastery of the ship put him in the light in the eyes of his superiors, who once learned what happened decided to elevate him to rank and leave him the ship of which he became a captain. A few months later Shay continues to train with his superiors in various techniques: with Kesegowaase, a Native American, he learns how to survive in hostile environments; with Hope Jensen, expert in poisons, she learns to assassinate furtively; and with his friend Liam, skilled gunslinger, he trains himself in the shooting range. After training at the estate, the old killer Adéwalé visits mentor Achille Davenport to give him the accounts of a mysterious mission in Haiti, which has had a disastrous outcome that has to do with an ancient artifact that has triggered a tsunami. Shay and Liam are sent by the mentor on a mission looking for a manuscript and a strange box, both in possession of the rival order of the murderers: that of the Templars. Chevalier asks for the help of a former pirate who calls himself Le Chasseur, who has discovered the name of the man in possession of the artifacts and who was looking for scientists who could make them work without knowing their nature: the Templar Lawrence Washington. Shay tracks down the man and kills him, believing that he was in possession of the two artifacts. It turns out, however, that Lawrence possessed neither the box nor the manuscript but on the verge of death he confessed the names of the men to whom he entrusted them. Samuel Smith is the first, killed this and retrieved the box, Shay's next target is James Wardrop, owner of the manuscript. The hunt lasts almost two years, during which Shay learns about the nature and therefore the origins of the two artifacts, which belonged to the forerunners of the first civilization; in fact, the box and the book are both Fruits of Eden that the Templars also want. The purpose of their mission is therefore to discover their function before the Templars. Meanwhile, in 1756 the tensions between France and England increased until the seven-year war broke out. Shay and Hope take advantage of the scientific knowledge of Benjamin Franklin, who hired to find out how to open the box through electricity, without revealing the true nature of the artifacts. Activated the box through electricity, this shows a map of the world with some marked points. At the last moment, Shay can see one of the points indicated before the map vanishes: Lisbon. Achilles therefore sends Shay overseas on a ship of the brotherhood to look for the artifact in Portugal and discover the nature of the latter to recover it. Finding the exact point, Shay manages to access a mysterious underground temple, which contains the strange artifact inside a crypt: a black prism shaped like a star. Shay is about to take it but as soon as it is touched it is pulverized, triggering a terrible earthquake from which the killer is miraculously saved by returning to the ship while the city is destroyed.
Shay realizes that what happened had already happened to Adéwalé in Haiti. Back in America, he accuses the mentor of having sent him a massacre. Hope tries to calm down by telling them that, I think, they are not sure if it happened again like in Haiti with Adéwalé. Liam takes away the friend who goes on a rampage tormented by what he did, imploring Achilles not to look for other artifacts as they only cause death. Knowing that he has never been stopped when it comes to keeping the Templars in his hands, Shay decides to betray the brotherhood and sneak into the estate to steal the box and manuscript so that he can not find other artifacts. Shay finds and takes the manuscript but is discovered and almost stopped by Achilles himself who chases him. At the same time the estate is suddenly attacked by some English ships and Shay takes advantage of the chaos to try a get away but gets stuck on a cliff. Liam tries to calm him down but rather to let another catastrophe come back. Shay decides to throw the artifact into the sea. The other killers arrive and despite shaking a Shay to stop him, the killer throws himself from the cliff, plunging into the icy waters of the ocean along with the manuscript.
Some time later it turns out that a man named George Monro found him at sea and entrusted to the care of a New York family, parents of a deceased friend of his. Recovered from his injuries, Shay was involved in the raids of the New York gangs that tormented his family to extort money from him. Once stopped Colonel Monro comes a knowledge of what he has done and thanks him asking him to help him in the annihilation of other gangs in the city to heal it once and for all. Shay accepts and defeats the gang by unlocking the renovation of buildings. Subsequently the colonel asks a Shay to rescue a picturesque sailor named Christopher Gist, (a man of the world accustomed to gambling and alcohol and a womanizer) held hostage in what he it will then be the home of Cormac. Shay discovers that the Morrigan was in the hands of the eliminated gang (probably sold to them by the murderers or stolen) and once resumed possession of the ship appoints Christopher as his quartermaster, who is preparing to recruit a crew. On the advice of Shay, the colonel and helps him in some missions against the French in Albany, where he meets an old acquaintance: the former pirate Le Chasseur (in the pay of the French) who kills in a duel to prevent the assassins discovering that it is He survived.
Back in New York, Monro asks Shay to investigate the production of some poisons and weapons in the city. Shay discovers that behind these inventions is Benjamin Franklin who continues to work for the Assassins without knowing the nature or use of his discoveries. Recalling that I enjoyed the specialty of hope, Shay joins the points but decides not to dare to hunt the murderer, however it destroys all the work of Franklin on weapons and poisons. Destroyed the production and strengthened its arsenal, the young man then performs another mission for George Monro, gaining total trust and respect. After celebrating the victory with Christopher and Shay, Monro returns to fight the French along with a Templar named Jack, where on the Morrigan the manuscript along with a letter to Shay dove the dice of having found him months in the icy waters of the estate shortly after the attack, revealing itself as the one who is attacked by sea and thus admitting also to be an enemy templar of the Assassins. Shay discovers that the colonel is known for his membership of the Assassins but that he did not care anyway because not saving him would be dishonorable and cruel. Shay then decides to help him fight the French to repay having saved him. During the clash one discovers that one of his old masters, the native Kesegowaase, has joined the natives allied with the French to stop Monro. Shay manages to save the colonel while Jack saves him from the assassin by disfiguring him after looking for an explosion. Jack and Christopher both turn out to be Templars in the service of George Monro, and Shay returns the manuscript to the colonel since, now that the Assassins know he was still alive, the dates chased him. Time after the success in a violent battle at a time when I found a problem with Kesegowaase, but that does not survive the fight. At the point of death, the enemy continues to announce his success by saying he had murdered the colonel and given the manuscript to Liam. Indeed in the battle the colonel was stolen and the manuscript was stolen by the Assassins.
Before he died, the colonel handed over his ring of the Templar Order to Shay, who then decided to finally join the order in memory of his deceased friend.
Time after Shay returns to a New York dove, from a mere mercenary to the Templars, recites the oath and the Templar film by Grand Master Haytham Kenway. Haytham reveals to Shay that the killer has joined the French fleet to help him in his hunt for the American Templars, and so the Grand Master assigns him his first Templar mission to Shay, in which he participates himself. The mission is to find Adéwalé and kill him. Shay reluctantly agrees to have to kill a man of honor who is the killer, but if he does so, he leaves with Christopher and Haytham on the Morrigan to hunt him down. The murderer and the Templar meet in the Siege of Louisbourg dove Shay puts him on the run after a furious naval battle. Once rediscovered, the Templar chases him with his nave and makes him shipwreck after a brief confrontation, forcing him to flee to the mainland where he is stopped and killed with the help of Grand Master Haytham, who then is finally convinced of Shay's loyalty .
Some time later in New York the Assassins try to play Franklin's experiment to reopen the box, so Shay and Jack slow them down, attracting the attention of the British authorities to them through some stratagems to blame the mercenaries for the Assassins. Shay thus discovers the location of the murderers and reaches their dove hideout. Achilles and Liam let Hope for a fight on the experiment of the box saying that they will leave the city to meet Chevalier to get the manuscript to be given. Hope discovers Shay and poisons him, but manages to make a stop and to take the antidote is forced to kill her. But he told him that the box is not true, and that his piano was just to slow Shay down so that Achilles would take the box to Chevalier. Shay sets sail from New York and finds the position of the murderer who makes him fall into a trap. Shay manages to survive, however, the show and, after approaching his aisle, defeats him in a duel. Although the killer confesses that the box was not in his hands, but in those of Achilles, and that I hope he has tricked him to chase Chevalier who put him in trap, pain to Achille and Liam time to get away and open the box to find another artifact.
Shay finally discovers the true location of the master killer through some charts of Chevalier, and then sailed with the Morrigan in the north Atlantic arriving at destination in March 1760 where he is accompanied by Grand Master Haytham, who follows him as instructed to study the sites and artifacts of the forerunners, here is a crypt under the ice, identical to that of Lisbon, where Achilles understands that there is no way to take the Fruit of Eden without destroying it and therefore it is useless, giving reason to what was said by Shay before betraying the brotherhood. Here Haytham and Shay enter the scene trying to stop them, but before the fight begins, Liam accidentally touches the artifact and unleashes an earthquake. Haytham chases Achilles as Liam and Shay flee outside the cave. During the duel, Liam states that the box was in Chevalier's hands, that he gave it to someone before he died, and that Shay will never find it. The earthquake plunges the two from a precipice and Liam, dying, lets go of the manuscript accusing Shay not only of having betrayed the brotherhood but also of having betrayed their friendship. Shay takes the manuscript and admits he has no regrets because he knows he has done the right thing by stopping them.
After the earthquake, Shay emerges from the cave and sees his old Mentor Achilles fight against Haytham who beats him. The unarmed and wounded killer is about to be cruelly killed but Shay stops Haytham telling him that he does not need to end his life, since the brotherhood in America no longer exists now, and also because so to tell other killers in the rest of the world that these sites of the forerunners found no useful artifacts to the confraternity, thus stopping the research. Haytham shoots Achilles' knee by crippling him and telling him never to forget his place and what happened. Christopher with the Morrigan and the Templars sail south. During the trip Haytham gives Shay the task of searching the box wherever it is. Shay accepts even knowing that the mission is old years ... in fact in 1776 Shay finds a Versailles dove finally found the killer to whom the box was part: Charles Dorian. Carlo (father of Arno, Victor Dorian) and once he finally passed his mission.
